As the largest suburban school district in MonroeCounty, and the ninth-largest district in New York State, Greece Central serves most of the Town of Greece. The GreeceCentralSchool District was created in July 1928, but schools existed in the area before the Town was established in 1822. Greece Central staff work to provide each student with a dynamic education that suites his or her individual needs. The HiltonSchool District has been nationally and regionally recognized for its instructional programs and outstanding faculty. HiltonHigh School was named to Newsweek's List of Top High Schools for the fifth year in a row. Spencerport Central Schools serves the southwestern portion of Greece. The District educates over 4,000 students annually in four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The District maintains an active partnership with the town of Ogden in sharing athletic fields and school facilities. The District also enjoys active community involvement with residents'
input on budget advisory committees, key leader search committees, parent associations, planning teams and sports and extra-curricular involvement. The district strongly supports the school wide enrichment model with four dedicated enrichment specialists who serve the elementary and middle schools. Odyssey of the Mind teams in grades 3-12 receive strong community support and have brought home numerous state and world championships. They offer community programs through enrichment classes for adults and children, adult literacy training, workforce development program, the Bridges program for non-traditional high school learning and before and after school programs. The Greater Rochester area is served by many first-class colleges and universities. Greece is conveniently located so as to provide easy access to these institutions such as the University of Rochester, RIT, RobertsWesleyanCollege, NazarethCollege and St. JohnFisherCollege. In Greece, we are home to Bryant & StrattonCollege which is Rochester’s premier two year, regionally accredited college. Bryant & Stratton offers many different degree programs and has a strong history of working closely with the business community. The YEA! program takes students through the entire process of setting up their own, real business. Starting with idea generation and vetting the students learn how to write a business plan, make a pitch for funding (with real money at stake) and eventually visit the CountyClerk's office to officially register their new business! All along the way the students hear from guest speakers, business mentors, investors and field trip hosts who have tons of useful information to help them along in their journey. The program is open to students in grades 9 – 12 from the Greece, Hilton and Spencerport school districts. Leadership Greece is a 10-month program designed for community leaders and those aspiring to become leaders in the community. Participants of this program will be provided with leadership training, tours, the opportunity to connect with leaders within the community from several industries and organizations, and much more. Leadership Greece meets one Friday each month from September through May and wraps up with a Graduation Luncheon celebration in June.
