Greece Central Schools

As the largest suburban school district in Monroe County, and the eighth-largest district in New York State, Greece Central serves most of the Town of Greece. The Greece Central School District was created in July 1928, but schools existed in the area before the Town was established in 1822. Greece Central staff work to provide each student with a dynamic education that suites his or her individual needs. Students consistently perform at levels that meet or exceed state standards and are awarded hundreds of college scholarships each year.

In addition to a strong academic program, Greece Central offers a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Community involvement is welcomed, and the district is fortunate to have thousands of community partners and volunteers. A variety of programs exist within Greece Central to get residents involved in schools and to get students involved in the community.

Spencerport Central Schools serves the southwestern portion of Greece.  The District educates over 4,000 students annually in four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.  The District maintains an active partnership with the town of Ogden in sharing athletic fields and school facilities. The District also enjoys active community involvement with residents'

input on budget advisory committees, key leader search committees, parent associations, planning teams and sports and extra-curricular involvement. The district strongly supports the school wide enrichment model with four dedicated enrichment specialists who serve the elementary and middle schools. Odyssey of the Mind teams in grades 3-12 receive strong community support and have brought home numerous state and world championships.  The Leadership program at the Middle School, Peer Listeners at the High School, and Peer Mediation in all of the district's schools help students develop strong leadership skills and resolve conflict constructively.

The district has an extensive volunteer program with more than 1,100 volunteers providing support to teachers and students every year.

Intellectual curiosity is ignited daily at The Harley School. Their primary focus is to nurture children's natural inquisitiveness and integrity, develop their self confidence, and guide them in their journey to become responsible, independent, and hard-working thinkers and learners.  Their school ranges from Nursery (Preschool) to Grade 12 with approximately 500 students enrolled.  Please contact Ivone Foisy, Director of Admission, to schedule a tour that will change your child’s life. 585.442.1770 ifoisy@harleyschool.org
