Bryant & Stratton College Sponsors 2025 Golf Tournament Supporting Local Nursing Education

The Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation recently held their third Annual Golf Tournament at Ridgemont Country Club. The Foundation’s current initiative is to  support local nursing education through scholarship grants to students at Bryant & Stratton College.

The Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation was established in 2002 to support programs that prepare young people for success in education and business. The Foundation is a charitable nonprofit organization led by a board of directors composed of community volunteers. Over the last 20 years, the Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation has funded a variety of organizations, community projects, and initiatives.

Events like this highlight the power of engagement and the important role the Chamber plays in helping our local businesses and neighborhoods thrive. Thank you to Bryant & Stratton College, Title Sponsor for the third year; Steve Tasker, Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl MVP, who served as the 2025 Honorary Tournament Chairperson for the second year in a row; Golf Tournament Chairperson Mike Mordenga, Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation Board Chair Brenee Bunce; and the many sponsors and volunteers who helped make this a successful event – and more importantly helped raise funds for scholarships that will make a lasting difference in the lives of local nursing students. Together, we are doing great things!

“For the third consecutive year, Bryant & Stratton College is excited to serve as the title sponsor for the Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation’s Annual Golf Tournament.  Bryant & Stratton College offers an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at our Greece campus.  We are very appreciative for the opportunity to participate in this event as the goal of the tournament is to raise funds to support local area Nursing.   There remains a tremendous need for qualified nurses and we are proud to be a part of the solution.” said Michael Mariani, Rochester Campus Director of Bryant & Stratton College.

“Thank you to all the sponsors, participants, and volunteers who make this charity effort a successful event. The funds raised go to nursing scholarships that not only benefit the students, but strengthen our entire healthcare community.” said Greece Regional Chamber President and CEO Joe Robach.

“The Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation is very proud to serve the charitable needs of our community by supporting the local nursing education, and we are grateful to the Greece Regional Chamber of Commerce, Golf Tournament Title Sponsor Bryant & Stratton College, and many others for their generous support. We also give special thanks to Steve Tasker for serving as our 2025 Honorary Chairperson,” said Michael A. Mordenga, Tournament Chairman and Past Charitable Foundation President.

“As president of the Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation, I’m proud to share that this year’s golf tournament was a great success, with Steve Tasker once again serving as our Honorary Chair. We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors and all the participants—especially those who played through the extreme heat to support our local nurses. We are looking forward to the next tournament in June 2026!” said Brenee Bunce, Licensed Real Estate Associate Broker with Keller Williams Realty.

FOUNDATION OVERVIEW:

Mission Statement

To support programs that prepare young people for success in education and business so as to develop a viable workforce that leads to Greece economic prosperity and community development.

Overview

The Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation (GCCF) was created in 2002. The Foundation is a charitable nonprofit organization, a 501 (c) 3, and is led by a board of directors comprised of community volunteers.  Over the last 15 years, the Foundation has funded a variety of organizations, community projects, and initiatives.

Daniel E. Richardson Memorial Fund

In March 2018, the Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation established the Daniel E. Richardson Memorial Fund in honor of Daniel E. Richardson, the Foundation’s first Board Chair and an active member of the Foundation Board of Directors up until his untimely passing in January 2018. The Fund will support grants and initiatives that help young people succeed in school, higher education and the workforce.

Individuals interested in donating to the fund should contact the Greece Regional Chamber at (585) 227-7272 or at Info@GreeceChamber.org.

Investing in the Next Generation

GCCF has invested in a number of educationally based development opportunities.  These range from supporting

entrepreneurial training opportunities in conjunction with the University of Rochester to assisting with the Greece Continuing Education’s Bridges program to train and certify students in customer service techniques.  The Foundation holds strong ties to the three school districts that serve Greece and is particularly interested in supporting business related programs that will encourage this generation of students to build their businesses right here in Greece.

Employee Training Grants

According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses  pay more than 45% of the total U.S. private payroll, have generated 60-80% of net new jobs annually over the last decade and represent about 99.7% of all employer firms.  GCCF recognizes the importance of small business not only on our national economy but also right here in Greece. That is why we have created an Employee Training Grant for local small businesses.  These grants ($1,000 and less) will allow these companies to access training that they might not otherwise have been able to secure for their employees.

These companies are investing in their employees and the Greece Community. To apply for a matching training grant contact the Greece Regional Chamber at email: Info@GreeceChamber.org.
