FOUNDATION OVERVIEW:

Mission Statement

To support programs that prepare young people for success in education and business so as to develop a viable workforce that leads to Greece economic prosperity and community development.

Overview

The Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation (GCCF) was created in 2002. The Foundation is a charitable nonprofit organization, a 501 (c) 3, and is led by a board of directors comprised of community volunteers.  Over the last 15 years, the Foundation has funded a variety of organizations, community projects, and initiatives.

Daniel E. Richardson Memorial Fund

In March 2018, the Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation established the Daniel E. Richardson Memorial Fund in honor of Daniel E. Richardson, the Foundation’s first Board Chair and an active member of the Foundation Board of Directors up until his untimely passing in January 2018. The Fund will support grants and initiatives that help young people succeed in school, higher education and the workforce.

To date, a significant number of generous donors have helped launch the fund. We thank them for their philanthropic support. For a full list of donors, click here.

Individuals interested in donating to the fund should contact Sarah Lentini at 585.944.5800 or at Sarah@GreeceChamber.org.

Investing in the Next Generation

GCCF has invested in a number of educationally based development opportunities.  These range from supporting

entrepreneurial training opportunities in conjunction with the University of Rochester to assisting with the Greece Continuing Education’s Bridges program to train and certify students in customer service techniques.  The Foundation holds strong ties to the three school districts that serve Greece and is particularly interested in supporting business related programs that will encourage this generation of students to build their businesses right here in Greece.

Employee Training Grants

According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses  pay more than 45% of the total U.S. private payroll, have generated 60-80% of net new jobs annually over the last decade and represent about 99.7% of all employer firms.  GCCF recognizes the importance of small business not only on our national economy but also right here in Greece. That is why we have created an Employee Training Grant for local small businesses.  These grants ($1,000 and less) will allow these companies to access training that they might not otherwise have been able to secure for their employees.

These companies are investing in their employees and the Greece Community. To apply for a matching training grant contact Sarah Lentini. Email: sarah@greecechamber.org.
