On Sunday, August 23, the Greece Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Greece welcomed the community to the first-ever Taste of the Town: Greece Community Festival at the Greece Town Hall Pavilion. From 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., businesses, restaurants, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and residents came together for an afternoon filled with local food, entertainment, activities, raffles, and plenty of opportunities to connect.
And what a success it was!
The pilot event was created to showcase the many businesses, organizations, restaurants, and community resources that make Greece such a vibrant place to live, work, and do business. With free admission and an open invitation to the community, Taste of the Town gave residents an opportunity to discover something new, support local businesses, and meet the people behind the organizations that serve our community.
A Community Comes Together
The afternoon brought together an incredible variety of participants. Guests could sample local food, visit food trucks, discover new businesses, learn about nonprofit organizations and community services, enjoy family-friendly activities and entertainment, and connect with organizations they may not have encountered before.
The event also demonstrated something the Chamber believes strongly in: a successful community is built through relationships. Taste of the Town created a space where businesses could promote what they offer, nonprofits could share their missions, community organizations could connect with residents, and neighbors could simply come together and enjoy an afternoon in Greece.
The response to the inaugural event was a wonderful reflection of that community spirit. The Pavilion was filled with activity, conversation, laughter, and people exploring everything the participating businesses and organizations had to offer.

A New Greece Tradition
Taste of the Town was created as a pilot event, but the response made one thing clear: there is a real appetite for opportunities that bring the Greece community together.
The Chamber is grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored, volunteered, attended, shared the event with friends and family, and helped spread the word. Whether you came to sample some great local food, discover a new business, support a nonprofit, enjoy the entertainment, or simply spend an afternoon with your neighbors, you helped make the event what it was.
Most importantly, Taste of the Town showed just how much Greece has to offer.
We are already looking forward to doing it again next year, building on what we learned and making Taste of the Town an even bigger celebration of the businesses, organizations, and people who make Greece such a special community.
Thank you, Greece, for making our first Taste of the Town such a great success. We can’t wait to see you again next year!
